Patriotic Elephant Ornament - Blue






This proud little ellie is handmade from hand dyed spun cotton. She is made to look like an antique toy. Her dress is made of aged crepe paper with a blue plaid fabric belt. Her hat is star pattern with blue trim to match her belt. I painted her face and nails and added little white tusks and a tail. This ornament measures almost 4 1/4" tall to tip of hat.

      Although its a very old art, Making spun cotton ornaments is My new artform. It took a lot of trial and error before I perfected it. All are my own creations. I love using antique fabrics, lace, buttons etc., anything old and new for my little ornaments. Sometimes the scrap faces are antique too. I'm a Victorian lover and I think it shows in my work. All of my ornaments are my own ideas.
